Powerwinch Anchor Windlass

A 50 year history of quality and innovation has made Powerwinch a respected leader in the Marine Industry. Powerwinch manufacturers and markets a variety of products that make boating more carefree.

Powerwinch Pontoon Anchor Windlass

Fore and aft pontoon boat Anchor Windlass packages keep your boat where you want it!

Pontoon owners need two anchors and two windlasses. With their high profile, pontoon boats tend to swing in the breeze more than other boats. When fishing, swimming, or just relaxing with the perfect view, two anchors keep the boat where you want it. They also prevent boats from drifting away from swimmers

Powerwinch Free Fall Anchor Windlass

Fastest way to anchor – Anchor drops up to four times faster!

  • Easiest way to anchor – Free-Fall stops when the anchor has reached bottom – Rope does not collect on your deck while you waste time and effort powering down.
  • Easiest to use – Just hold the helm switch for only five seconds to release free-fall, versus one to three minutes powering down.
  • Precise anchoring location – Anchor your boat where you want it to be, unlike powering down where your boat will drift while you power down.

Powerwinch Capstans

Why Capstans?

Rather than using the hand-over-hand method of retrieving lines, the capstan offers a mechanical advantage that is both faster and safer. The capstan does the heavy lifting with only a small amount of effort. The maximum speed of the line retrieval depends on the rotational speed of the drum. The benefit is that the retrieval speed can be adjusted by decreasing the tension on the retrieved line, maintaining control over a very heavy load with little effort.
This useful device, which has been around since the early days of sailing, is still used today. Recreational fishermen, like commercial fishermen, use these for hauling crab and lobster pots and there are many other uses aboard boats. The few mechanical parts and ease of use have made this a favorite of fisherman worldwide. While chains should NEVER be wrapped around a drum, the majority of lines can be handled on a capstan.

A capstan, typically operated by an easy to use footswitch (shown above), allows the boater to control lines with ease without having additional crew members. Powerwinch has a model to fit your needs. All Powerwinch capstans come with a foot control switch that allows for hands-free operation.
